A talented young show jumper, Atiya has already represented her country on Nations Cup teams on numerous occasions, including at the European Championships in Fontainebleau & the Nations Cup Finals for the Children On Horses in 2018.
In her time on the British team, Atiya showed her ability to perform under pressure and great natural feeling on a horse.
Born in 2004, at present she manages her education around her riding and is developing a strong string of her own horses to campaign, from 4-year-olds all the way through to Grand Prix level. She has now competed up to CSI2* Grand Prix level and has strong ambitions going forwards in the sport.
India, born in the year 2001, is a very focused and driven young rider. Since her international debut in 2015, in which she won a Silver medal at the Youth European Championships in Austria along side her British teammates, she has been a student of the sport learning from some of the very best riders in the World.
India has spent time developing her riding and production of the young horses, but is also not afraid of the big stages. She competed in the popular Puissance class at HOYS at just 17 years old after jumping a huge 2m15 to qualify, and has had a lot of success both nationally and internationally up to CSI4* 1m50 Grand Prix level. She has been on the Team GB squad throughout the Youth system, having call ups in Childrens, Juniors and Young Riders.
India has worked under top riders, such as William & Pippa Funnell at The Billy Stud and Belgium’s highest ranked show jumper Pieter Devos, to develop her skills in the saddle and learn about the management of the horses and the businesses behind them. Spending time in other peoples stables not only in the UK, but also in Belgium and Germany, has given India valuable experience to bring back to the Stud. She is now riding forgone of the world’s best-known trading stables, the Stephex Stables of Belgium.
Nel is a super competitive little horse. She is forward going and takes you to a fence and can be very fast against the clock if desired, this she proved winning multiple 1m25 classes in Oliva Nova! More recently Nel has been jumping successfully upto 1m30 classes with Atiya.
She can be fast, but she is also a very careful mare who wants to jump clear rounds. She has a super technique over a fence and schools nicely on the flat as well. Being nice and compact in her build, she is super rideable and has great balance.
She would be the perfect first horse for a competitive child coming off ponies looking to start in the senior ranks. She would equally be as suited to a competent amateur who wants to go out and win classes!
Nel is a very pretty mare with a lovely personality to match.
Wishing the lovely Calisto de Laubry Z the best of luck in his new home. Cali has been a pleasure to produce here at Wodehouse Stud over the past couple of years on behalf of his owner, our very own Sue Crawford. He has brought us a lot of happiness watching him develop in the sport & we are certain he will continue to please in his new address. Good luck Cali & Charlie; we are excited to watch you competing together in the near future!
Home and Show Groom. Flat Rider and Young Horse Producer
Cassey has been an incredibly invaluable member of our team at Wodehouse Stud for many years. As a dedicated horsewoman, with a very high standard of working and an undeniable love for all of the horses, we are very lucky to have her here at Wodehouse Stud.
2016 16.2hh chestnut gelding (Cohinoor VDL (Cornet Obolensky) x Voltaire)
Lucca has all the ability to make a future Grand Prix horse. He is tall & scopey, but light in his build and way of going. As a 3-year-old he won the loose jumping competition at Addington, having always shown great potential for the sport.
He has been slowly produced allowing him time to grow into himself. He jumped a few shows as a 4-year-old and made his international debut as a 5 year old.
He is very rideable and has a great brain, taking everything we have asked of him in his stride. He rides beautifully on the flat, with three super paces and he is also established in his flying changes. He is an absolute gentleman.
We believe that Lucca has all the attributes to make a Grand Prix show jumper.
The best is yet to come from this exciting young horse!
Colman is a yard favourite for sure. He is a little horse with a huge heart!
Colman has an exceptional record, up to 1m45 level nationally and internationally, and is rarely out of the ribbons. He loves his job and always wants to jump a clear round. He would suit a competitive rider who loves to win! Or equally he would be a super horse for Childrens/Juniors/Young Riders as he is so consistent and already has experience jumping at Junior and Young Rider Nations Cup shows.
This year he jumped double clear in the Medium Tour Grand Prix at Chard CSI** to take 2nd place in a very competitive jump off and placed 2nd and 4th in the 1m40 classes at the Youth Nations Cup Show in Wierden as well as stepping up to jump his first World Ranking Grand Prix.
Colman is a dream to handle and work with, he loves hacking alone or in company and rides very well on the flat and laterally. He is however a forward going ride when it comes to jumping so we would be looking for a rider to complement that if he was to be viewed.
Colman is half brother to Billy Dorito, who under Darragh Kenny competes at 1.50m level, and Billy Marmite who as a 7 year old is competing up to 1.40m.
2016 16.1hh grey gelding (Elvis Ter Putte x Cassini I)
Elvis is a very exciting young horse. He is a beautiful model and a lovely modern type. He is very careful by nature and has an excellent technique on the jump. He has been slowly produced with us since purchasing as a 3-year-old and has firmly become a yard favourite!
He already begun his international career as a 5-year-old, placing 3rd in the CSIYH Grand Prix at Chard. Since then he has been slowly developed and has competed successfully to 1m30 level. He has a super attitude to work and finds everything very easy; we are optimistic that even the best is yet to come for this young talent.
The horses put in some great rounds of jumping with some good placings throughout the week.
Florida VDL
We finished yesterday with the ever consistent ???????????? ? jumping a super double clear in the 1m20 Championship with Atiya in the Main Ring to finish in 7th place!
Chesterfield Z
Well done also to pupil Sharnah with her own ????????? ????? putting in some great performances across the week!
Wodehouse Eceni & Sharnah
And huge thanks goes to Donna & Sue for all of their help this week behind the scenes & Ellesse for holding the fort at home. Team work makes the dream work!
It was great to be back out competing at our first show post lockdown, and what better place to do it than in the beautiful setting of the Bolesworth Estate at the British Showjumping National Championships.
Chesterfield Z was our star of the show placing in the top 10 of both his Championships with Atiya. Firstly, the Under 16 National Championship on Thursday in which the pair finished 7th jumping a beautiful first round clear with an unfortunate time penalty keeping them out of the jump off. He then produced another fantastic clear on the final day of competition in the 1m30 National Championship where they placed 9th.
We were also delighted with our lovely 4-year-old stallion Elstar STM Z who behaved impeccably at his first stay away show taking the atmosphere all in his stride. He jumped two super clear rounds in the 4-year-old classes and in doing so picked up a 4th placing also!
Atiya also stepped up to jump her first 1m45 class with our own 10-year-old gelding Florida VDL in the Under 21s Championship and put in a good performance in the Grand Prix Qualifier/Junior Viewing Trial gaining valuable experience at this level to take forwards.
We are now very much looking forward to our next show which will be Hickstead at the beginning of September, and look forward to this week visiting India in her new base in Germany!
